Description
A wine style worth rediscovering
Szamorodni is a Tokaj speciality that deserves to be discovered anew. For this sweet 2024 vintage, botrytised (aszú) and healthy berries of Furmint and Hárslevelű are processed together — from 40-year-old vines on the volcanic Istenhegy, Koldu and Betsek vineyards. The result is a rich, creamy dessert wine, matured for 6 months in 225 l Hungarian oak barrels.
Tasting notes
Golden-yellow in the glass. The nose opens with lychee, orange blossom and gingerbread, framed by fine quince-jam notes. The palate is dense and wide: honey, dried apricot, raisin and orange marmalade, with a hint of fig and a discreet herbal-candy shade. 101.5 g/l of residual sugar gives depth and a rich texture, while the acidity keeps the wine driven and balanced.
Gastronomy
A dessert wine par excellence: pour it with honey-ginger cakes, spiced apple pie or an apricot galette. It is equally at home beside aged gouda, stilton or a dried-mushroom risotto — and served slightly over-chilled, it makes a perfect aperitif.

Frequently asked questions
What makes Szamorodni special?
In this traditional Tokaj style, botrytised (aszú) and healthy berries are processed together — that is what gives the wine its rich, creamy, honeyed character. Our 2024 vintage comes from the volcanic vineyards of Harmónia Szőlőbirtok in Tokaj, Hungary.
How sweet is it, and how strong?
It carries 101.5 g/l of residual sugar, balanced by 6.11 g/l of acidity at 11.5% alcohol — sweet and velvety, yet fresh and balanced.
How should I serve it?
Well chilled with desserts and cheeses — or slightly over-chilled as a surprising aperitif. It shines with honey-ginger cakes, spiced apple pie, aged gouda or stilton.
Where does my bottle ship from?
Every order ships from our Slovak workshop, typically within 2–5 working days across Central Europe. The 0.5 l bottle is closed with a DIAM 5 cork and was bottled in August 2025.
Is there an age limit?
Yes — wine is sold to adults aged 18 and over only. Please enjoy responsibly.
