General Terms and Conditions

Effective from:

These General Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern the rights and obligations of the seller and the buyer when goods are bought through the ASTILO online shop at astilo.studio (the “e-shop”). Please read them carefully before you place an order. The binding version of these Terms is the Slovak one; this English text is a translation.

The seller and the supervisory authority

1.1 The e-shop is operated, and the goods are sold, by:

CSMD - Libelula s. r. o., registered office Blhovce 230, 980 32 Blhovce, Slovakia, Reg. No. (IČO): 56 070 837, Tax ID (DIČ): 2122176023, VAT ID (IČ DPH): SK2122176023, registered in: Obchodný register Okresného súdu Banská Bystrica, oddiel: Sro, vložka č. 48536/S.
E-mail: bestsignostudio@gmail.com, phone: +421 907 097 037.

1.2 Complaints, notices of withdrawal and returned goods are to be sent to the seller’s registered office, unless the seller announces another address.

1.3 The supervisory authority is the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia), Inspectorate for the Banská Bystrica Region, Dolná 46, 974 01 Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. For foodstuffs (e.g. honey, chocolate) supervision is exercised by the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration Rimavská Sobota, Kirejevská 22, 979 01 Rimavská Sobota.

Introductory provisions and definitions

2.1 The buyer is a natural or legal person who orders goods in the e-shop. A consumer is a buyer who is a natural person and who, when concluding and performing the contract, does not act within their trade, business or profession. A business buyer is a buyer who is not a consumer.

2.2 Relations with consumers are governed in particular by Act No. 40/1964 Coll., the Civil Code, Act No. 108/2024 Coll. on Consumer Protection and Act No. 22/2004 Coll. on Electronic Commerce. Relations with business buyers are governed by Act No. 513/1991 Coll., the Commercial Code; the provisions of these Terms intended solely for consumers (in particular the right to withdraw without giving a reason) do not apply to them.

2.3 These Terms form an integral part of the purchase contract, together with the Complaints Procedure, the information on the right of withdrawal and the Delivery and payment page. The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Goods and prices

3.1 The main characteristics of the goods, their price and availability are shown with each product in the e-shop. Products made of natural wood have a unique grain and shade; these natural differences are not a defect. Photographs and previews of personalisation illustrate the result.

3.2 Prices are shown in the currency of the selected market (usually in euro) and are final, including value added tax. Delivery costs and any fee for the chosen payment method (e.g. cash on delivery) are shown in the cart and at checkout before the order is placed; costs not disclosed to the buyer are not borne by the buyer.

3.3 When announcing a price reduction, the seller also states the lowest price at which it offered the goods during the 30 days before the reduction, where the law requires it.

3.4 If a product shows an obviously wrong price (e.g. because of a technical error), the seller informs the buyer without delay and does not accept the order at that price; the buyer may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it. If the buyer has already paid, the seller refunds the payment in full.

Ordering and conclusion of the contract

4.1 The buyer places goods in the cart, fills in any personalisation (e.g. the engraving text), enters contact, billing and delivery details, chooses the delivery and payment method and, in the last step, reviews the order summary including the total price. The order is sent by pressing the “Order with obligation to pay” button.

4.2 Before sending the order, the buyer can check and correct all details by returning to the previous checkout steps or by editing the cart. Registration is not required to order.

4.3 The order sent is an offer to conclude a purchase contract. The seller confirms the order by e-mail without delay, thereby accepting it (order confirmation). The purchase contract is concluded when this confirmation reaches the buyer. The confirmation contains the order summary and links to these Terms; the seller archives the contract electronically, and it is available to the buyer in the confirmation e-mail and, for registered customers, in the My account section.

4.4 For personalised goods (e.g. an engraved name or custom text) the buyer is responsible for the correctness and completeness of the details entered. The seller makes the goods exactly according to them; if the seller sends a preview for approval, production starts after the buyer approves it. The seller may require payment in advance before starting production of personalised goods; in that case it informs the buyer.

4.5 The contract may be concluded in Slovak or in the language of the e-shop version chosen by the buyer. The Slovak version of these Terms is binding; the other language versions are translations.

Payment

5.1 The buyer can pay the purchase price by the methods shown at checkout for their order (country, currency and delivery method) before the order is placed, in particular:

  • through the Besteron payment gateway – by payment card (Visa, Mastercard), or by Apple Pay, Google Pay or instant bank payment, as offered by the gateway;
  • by bank transfer to the seller’s account according to the instructions in the order confirmation;
  • cash on delivery with the delivery methods that allow it; the cash-on-delivery fee is shown at checkout.

5.2 Payments through the payment gateway are processed by Besteron, a. s., registered office Prešovská 38/B, 821 02 Bratislava, Slovakia, Reg. No. 47 866 233, a payment institution supervised by the National Bank of Slovakia. Payments made through the Besteron payment gateway are governed by the general terms and conditions of Besteron, a. s., published at www.besteron.com. Besteron, a. s. processes the payer’s personal data under its own privacy terms (besteron.com/sk/ochrana-osobnych-udajov). Card details are entered by the buyer directly on the secure page of the payment gateway; the seller has no access to them.

5.3 The seller charges no fee for paying by card or through the payment gateway.

5.4 Where the buyer is entitled to a refund – in particular after a justified complaint or after withdrawal from the contract – the seller refunds the money by the same method the buyer used to pay (for card payments, back to the payment card), unless the buyer expressly agrees to another method; the buyer incurs no fees as a result.

5.5 For payment in advance, the seller dispatches the goods once the payment has been credited. The seller issues the tax document (invoice) and delivers it to the buyer electronically.

Delivery

6.1 The seller delivers to the countries offered in the e-shop for the selected market, through carriers (e.g. DPD, Slovenská pošta, Packeta), to an address or to a pick-up point. The current delivery methods and their prices are shown at checkout; an overview is on the Delivery and payment page.

6.2 The expected dispatch time is shown with the product or at checkout; personalised goods are made only after the order. Unless agreed otherwise, the seller delivers the goods without undue delay and no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded. If the seller fails to deliver on time, the buyer has the rights under Section 613(5) of the Civil Code.

6.3 Ownership of the goods and the risk of damage pass to the buyer when the buyer or a person designated by them takes over the goods. We recommend checking that the parcel is intact on receipt and recording any damage with the carrier; this does not affect the buyer’s rights in respect of defects.

6.4 If the seller delivers an order in several parcels, the buyer does not pay more than was shown when ordering.

Withdrawal from the contract

7.1 A consumer may withdraw from the purchase contract without giving a reason within 14 days of the day on which they, or a third party designated by them other than the carrier, take over the goods (for several goods delivered separately, from the day the last of them is taken over). The consumer may also withdraw before receiving the goods.

7.2 The consumer gives notice of withdrawal by an unequivocal statement – online through the “withdraw from contract here” function, by letter or by e-mail to bestsignostudio@gmail.com; the model form may be used. For an online withdrawal the seller confirms receipt of the notice by e-mail without delay. Detailed information, the exceptions and the form are on the Right of withdrawal page.

7.3 The seller refunds all payments, including the cost of delivery (except the extra cost of a delivery method more expensive than the cheapest standard one offered), no later than 14 days after receiving the notice of withdrawal, by the same method the consumer used to pay (point 5.4). The seller may withhold the refund until the goods are returned or proof of their dispatch is provided. The direct cost of returning the goods is borne by the consumer.

7.4 The consumer cannot withdraw in particular from a contract for goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised (e.g. an engraved name or custom text, a personalised product), goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly, and sealed goods unsuitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed after delivery (Section 19(1) of Act No. 108/2024 Coll.).

Liability for defects and complaints

8.1 The seller is liable for defects that the goods have on delivery and that appear within two years of delivery. The buyer’s rights and how a defect is notified (a complaint) and handled are set out in the Complaints Procedure.

8.2 A complaint can be made by e-mail to bestsignostudio@gmail.com or in writing to the seller’s registered office. The seller issues a confirmation of the complaint without delay and remedies the defect within 30 days of its notification at the latest, unless a longer period is justified by an objective reason beyond the seller’s control.

Alternative dispute resolution

9.1 If a consumer is not satisfied with the way the seller handled their complaint, or believes the seller has infringed their rights, they may ask the seller for redress (by e-mail to bestsignostudio@gmail.com).

9.2 If the seller rejects the request or does not reply within 30 days of its dispatch, the consumer may file a proposal for alternative dispute resolution under Act No. 391/2015 Coll. The competent body is the Slovak Trade Inspection, Central Inspectorate, Department of International Relations and Alternative Consumer Dispute Resolution, Bajkalská 21/A, P. O. BOX 29, 827 99 Bratislava 27, e-mail: ars@soi.sk or adr@soi.sk, or another authorised entity listed by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic (list of ADR entities). The consumer may choose which one to use.

9.3 This does not affect the consumer’s right to go to court.

Customer account

10.1 Registration in the e-shop is voluntary. The buyer must give true information and protect their login details against misuse.

10.2 The buyer may ask for the account to be closed at any time by e-mail to bestsignostudio@gmail.com. Data the seller must keep under specific regulations (in particular accounting documents) are kept after the account is closed to the extent described in the Privacy Policy.

Final provisions

11.1 The seller may amend these Terms. An order is governed by the version of the Terms in force when it was sent.

11.2 If any provision of these Terms becomes invalid or ineffective, the other provisions remain in force.

11.3 Legal relations are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic. Where the buyer is a consumer habitually resident in another country, this does not deprive them of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of that country’s law.

11.4 These Terms are valid and effective from 5 October 2026.
